About the Artist
Rafael Ferrer
Born in Puerto Rico in 1933, Ferrer is an artist who studied at the Staunton Military College and Syrcause University from 1951-1953. Traveling to Paris in 1953, Ferrer became active in a circle of Surrealist artists and intellectuals, where he met André Breton. Ferrer's success began in the late 1960s through conceptual and process art installations. His works were widely showcased at museum worldwide including the Museum of Modern Art, Whitney Museum of American Art, Corcoran Gallery, Stedelijk Museum, and Museums of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia and Chicago.
