Andy Warhol’s *Chanel No. 5* transforms one of the world’s most recognizable perfume bottles into a bold celebration of fashion, luxury and consumer culture. Presented here as a complete set of four posters, the familiar bottle is repeated in dramatically different combinations of red, blue, green, gold and black.

Warhol first depicted Chanel No. 5 for his celebrated 1985 *Ads* portfolio, a series that elevated familiar commercial imagery into fine art. By isolating the bottle and surrounding it with saturated color, he turned an everyday advertisement into an enduring Pop Art icon.

These posters were published by Chanel in 1997 in conjunction with the Andy Warhol Foundation, a decade after the artist’s death. Each offset lithograph has been linen-backed for added stability and preservation. Displayed together, the four colorways create an especially striking installation that brings together two of the twentieth century’s most influential names in art and fashion.

About the Artist

Andy Warhol

Andy Warhol made art out of things people usually ignore. Cans of soup, famous faces, dollar signs, newspaper photos. He chose these images because they were already everywhere. By repeating them, he forced people to actually look at how much power everyday images have. What Warhol changed was the idea of what art could be about. He showed that fame, money, and attention all work in similar ways. If you see something enough times, it starts to feel important. His work helped people understand how modern culture creates value, not through meaning, but through visibility.
