Rendered in bold color and flattened perspective, the crowded shelves seem to tilt toward the viewer, allowing every object to compete for attention.\r\rThe composition brings together several of Wood’s most recognizable subjects, from lush houseplants and sports imagery to the patterned ceramic vessels closely associated with the work of his wife, artist Shio Kusaka. Familiar objects become a lively arrangement of color, line and pattern, blurring the boundary between a recognizable interior and near abstraction.\r\rThis offset lithograph was created especially for Wood and Kusaka’s joint exhibition at Museum Voorlinden in the Netherlands, held from 2017 to 2018.
