This vintage blank note card features Wrapped Reichstag, Project for Berlin by Christo and Jeanne-Claude, one of the most iconic large-scale environmental artworks of the late 20th century. Published by Nouvelles Images S.A. Éditeurs and offset printed in France, the image captures the monumental transformation of the German Reichstag, temporarily enveloped in fabric as part of the artists’ visionary project realized in 1995.

The composition presents the Reichstag bathed in a deep, atmospheric blue, its architectural form softened and redefined through the draped fabric—an approach characteristic of Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s practice, where familiar structures are reimagined through scale, material, and temporality. The juxtaposition of documentation and artistic interpretation reflects the ephemeral nature of the original installation, which existed only briefly yet left a lasting impact on contemporary art and public space.

Elegantly presented within a contemporary black wood frame and wide mat, the piece achieves a refined, museum-style presentation. The framing enhances the intimate scale of the image while emphasizing its quiet, contemplative presence.

A rare and sophisticated collectible, this work is ideal for enthusiasts of Christo and Jeanne-Claude, conceptual and environmental art, and significant moments in modern art history.

Framing available upon request.

About the Artist

Javacheff Christo

Christo (Javacheff), born in Gabrovo, Bulgaria, was renowned for his large-scale "wrapping" sculptures, created in collaboration with his wife Jeanne-Claude, born in Morocco on the same day (June 13, 1935). To combat biases against female artists, they promoted the work under Christo’s name. Despite the scale and controversy of their projects, they stated their art had no deeper meaning beyond aesthetic impact, aiming to create beauty and new ways of seeing familiar landscapes. Their bond grew through their joint art, and they famously flew in separate planes, ensuring one could continue their work if the other’s plane crashed.
