About the Artist
Diego Rivera
Diego Rivera (1886–1957) was a renowned Mexican painter and a central figure in the Mexican mural movement. Known for his large-scale frescoes across Mexico and the United States, he helped shape modern public art and gained international recognition, including a major retrospective at New York’s Museum of Modern Art in 1931. Rivera studied at the Academy of San Carlos and later worked in Europe, where he explored Cubism and Post-Impressionism before developing his distinctive style. He was also known for his marriage to fellow artist Frida Kahlo.
