This vibrant serigraph by Marko Spalatin, titled Kaleidoscope and created in 1980, exemplifies the artist’s bold use of color, rhythm, and abstract form. The work was published by Judith L. Posner & Associates, Inc. and printed by Sargus Press, Blue Mounds, Wisconsin, both respected names in fine art print production.

This impression is signed and numbered in pencil by Spalatin out of 90, making it a desirable example from the limited series. The sheet measures approximately 36″ × 26″, with an image size of about 18.5″ × 21.25″, giving the composition strong visual presence.

Offered in unrestored condition, the poster shows creases, denting, and minor paper breaks at the margins, consistent with age and handling, while the vivid abstract imagery remains intact. A compelling vintage modern print, Kaleidoscope is well suited for collectors of postwar abstraction and for framing as a bold statement piece.

About the Artist

Marko Spalatin

Marko Spalatin (b. 1945) is a Croatian American abstract geometric painter and printmaker. Born in Zagreb, he moved to the U.S. in 1963 and earned both a B.S. in Art and an MFA from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. His work is represented in major collections worldwide and has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions. Spalatin’s art explores abstract geometric forms through the interplay of color and light. Influenced by his experiences diving in the Adriatic and Caribbean seas, he investigates the relativity of color and the mystery of light, creating paintings that challenge perception and balance subjective expression with objective clarity.
