This rare and striking serigraph poster was created by renowned British artist Howard Hodgkin for the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in 2002. Published in an exclusive edition of just 50, each piece is hand-initialed, dated, and numbered in pencil by Hodgkin himself, adding a highly personal and collectible dimension to the work.

The edition number is inscribed on the reverse of the print, further emphasizing its authenticity and limited availability. Hodgkin’s expressive use of color and gesture, coupled with the significance of the Lincoln Center commission, makes this a standout piece for collectors of contemporary printmaking and modern British art.

Hand-signed works by Hodgkin are increasingly sought-after, and this serigraph captures the bold, emotive quality that defines his celebrated oeuvre.

About the Artist

Howard Hodgkin

Howard Hodgkin (1932–2017) was a celebrated British painter known for his bold use of color and emotionally charged abstraction. Trained at Camberwell School of Art and Bath Academy of Art, he rejected labels, describing himself simply as a painter. His works, marked by gestural brushwork and intimate subject matter, often evoked feelings rather than depicting objects. Associated with the “New British Painting” movement of the 1980s, Hodgkin earned international recognition, winning the Turner Prize in 1985 and a knighthood in 1992. His legacy endures through his vibrant canvases, works on paper, and prints.
