Original exhibition poster designed by Greg van Alstyne for Mutant Materials in Contemporary Design, a groundbreaking exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, in 1995. The show explored the radical use of unconventional materials—plastics, resins, composites, and hybrids—that redefined industrial and product design at the close of the 20th century. Van Alstyne’s poster reflects this forward-thinking spirit, using striking visual language to capture the dynamic relationship between material innovation and contemporary aesthetics. Issued by MoMA in 1995, this poster has since become collectible exhibition ephemera, embodying both design history and the era’s fascination with transformation and experimentation.
