About the Artist

Jud Nelson

Jud Nelson (born 1943) is an American sculptor known for his meticulously crafted, hyper-realistic sculptures of everyday objects. Working in materials such as marble and Styrofoam, Nelson transforms items like trash bags, folding chairs, and Popsicles into finely detailed works that invite viewers to reconsider the ordinary. Active in New York since the 1970s, he has exhibited widely, including at the Robert Miller Gallery, and his work is held in major collections such as the Guggenheim Museum and the Walker Art Center.
