This leading-edge process is made entirely possible by new advances in printing. Because the dyes are transferred directly into the metal surface of every photograph, the immediacy of the technique adds a distinctive physicality to the artist's exceptional photography, which has, for the past several years, explored the complex relationship between the physical state and the psychological one. Gesture and expression are examined in literal and metaphoric terms. There is contradiction in spite of directness, and a multiplicity of powerful implications is sensitively proposed. Printed on Hahnemühle Bright White 300 gsm paper. Comes in a blue linen folder. The four colour etchings Isabel, Diorama, Scramble, and Twenty Seventeen are based on iPhone photographs that Tuymans took while painting. They reveal an early, unfinished stage, which immediately evaporates during the creative process. The paint strokes that Tuymans places in the margin of the painting and the edges of the canvas are also incorporated in the etched image. The ephemeral plays a crucial role in the artist’s work: these colour etchings belong to the same category as his tempera murals which no longer exist. At the same time, they offer a special insight into Tuymans’ working process. The crumpled piece of paper in Scramble – still pale in the etching – becomes a monumental, colourful ball in the painting, which contrasts sharply with the dark background. The canary in Isabel will eventually become bright yellow, a surprising colour in Tuymans’ work.
Sku: YY3497-B
Artist: Tom Wesselmann
Title: Woman with Green Blouse
Year: 1988
Signed: Yes
Medium: Serigraph
Paper Size: 61 x 75 inches ( 155 x 191 cm )
Image Size: 60 x 74 inches ( 152 x 188 cm )
Edition Size: 100
Framed: Yes
Frame Size: H: 61 x W: 75 x D: 2 in.
Condition: A-: Near Mint, very light signs of handling

Additional Details: Stunning large screenprint by Tom Wesselmann, titled "Woman with Green Blouse" from 1988, measures an impressive 61 x 75 inches.
