This original exhibition poster was produced for a major retrospective of Robert Delaunay held at the Orangerie des Tuileries in Paris from May 26 to August 30, 1976.

The image features one of Delaunay’s iconic abstract compositions, characterized by concentric circles and rhythmic color harmonies. A pioneer of Orphism, Delaunay explored the expressive potential of color and light, using overlapping circular forms to create a sense of movement, energy, and visual vibration. The interplay of bold reds, greens, blues, and yellows generates a dynamic equilibrium, where geometry becomes both structure and sensation.

Delaunay’s work marked a decisive break from traditional representation, emphasizing pure abstraction and the emotional power of color. His circular motifs—often referred to as “Simultaneous Discs”—remain among the most recognizable contributions to early modern art.

The poster’s clean typography and balanced layout reflect the refined graphic sensibility of French museum design in the 1970s, allowing the artwork to take center stage while clearly situating the exhibition within its historical context.

Printed in the pre-digital poster era, this piece retains the richness and subtle tonal variation characteristic of high-quality offset production.

A visually vibrant and historically significant poster, appealing to collectors of modernism, abstract art, and important French exhibition material.
