This striking billboard titled Été (Summer) was created by legendary French image-maker Jean-Paul Goude as part of his high-impact advertising campaign for Galeries Lafayette. At the heart of the composition is Laetitia Casta, the campaign’s iconic muse, who appears dressed like a dazzling firecracker—an embodiment of energy and summer exuberance.

Wearing bright green sneakers and a vivid red hat, Casta is styled in Goude’s signature theatrical fashion, blending pop surrealism with Parisian flair. Her stance is dynamic, almost explosive, set against a crisp white backdrop that amplifies the colors and enhances the sense of joyful motion.

Goude, known for his vibrant, whimsical, and hyper-stylized visual language, uses Été to celebrate not only the season but also the playful spirit of fashion itself. This piece exemplifies his ability to merge performance, photography, and advertising into a single unforgettable image.

This original billboard-size poster was distributed throughout France as part of a nationwide campaign and remains a rare collector’s item from Goude’s acclaimed series for Galeries Lafayette, launched in 2001.
