Abraham David Christian, born in 1952 in Düsseldorf, Germany, is a prominent sculptor known for his abstract and minimalist works. He gained early recognition by participating in Documenta 5 in 1972 at the age of 19. Christian's sculptures, crafted from materials such as earth, paper, plaster, and bronze, reflect influences from various cultures, including Eastern, Western, African, and American traditions. He has held solo exhibitions at institutions like the Museum Haus Lange in Krefeld and the Kunstmuseum Düsseldorf. Currently, he divides his time between New York City, Düsseldorf, Graubünden (Switzerland), and Hayama (Japan).
