About the Artist
Emmanuel Brune
Emmanuel Brune (1836–1886) was a French architect and artist. He studied under Charles-Auguste Questel and won the prestigious Grand Prix de Rome in 1863. In 1871, he was appointed Professor of Construction at the École des Beaux-Arts.
Brune's works have been featured in exhibitions, including "The Architecture of the École des Beaux-Arts" at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in 1975–1976.
