Julius Friedman

Louisville-based graphic designer/photographer, co-founder of Images design studio; internationally exhibited. His work is held by MoMA, the National Gallery of Art, and other institutions. Known for iconic, witty posters (e.g., Louisville Orchestra “Ice Cream,” Louisville Ballet “Toe on Egg,” Fresh Paint), and for elevating commercial posters to collectible design objects. Passed away in 2017 at age 74 (leukemia).
