This original first printing lithograph by Maurice Realier-Dumas was published in the influential 1897 book Das Moderne Plakat (The Modern Poster), edited by Edmund Sonsel and printed by Verlag von Gerhard Kuhtmann in Dresden.

Titled Maderas Blandy, this work exemplifies the Art Nouveau aesthetics of the late 19th century, with its decorative elegance and flowing composition. Realier-Dumas, known for his refined sensibilities and theatrical poster designs, created this striking image to advertise the Portuguese wine brand Blandy’s Madeira, combining commercial purpose with artistic flair.

As part of one of the earliest and most important surveys of modern poster art, this lithograph offers a rare glimpse into the origins of graphic design as a recognized art form. A true collector’s piece.
