The poster from The Israel Museum in Jerusalem, created for an exhibition in 2005, faithfully reproduces the intricate details and vibrant colors of Klee's original monoprint.

"Angelus Novus," or "New Angel," depicts a stylized angel with wide, startled eyes, outstretched wings, and feet that appear to be in motion, as if caught in a sudden gust. The figure is both ethereal and grounded, combining elements of the mystical and the corporeal. Klee’s use of simple lines and a muted color palette creates a powerful and haunting image that continues to captivate and inspire viewers.

About the Artist

Paul Klee

Paul Klee (1879–1940) was a Swiss-German artist known for his unique style influenced by Expressionism, Cubism, and Surrealism. A skilled draftsman, Klee extensively explored color theory and wrote influential works, including the *Paul Klee Notebooks*. He taught at the Bauhaus alongside Wassily Kandinsky, though he often worked independently, developing his own approach to contemporary art trends. Klee experimented with a wide range of media, creating emotionally expressive works that often referenced poetry, music, dreams, and included symbols or notations. His extensive legacy includes around 9,000 pieces of art.
