This striking Olympic poster by Renato Guttuso features the powerful image of a calciatore (soccer player) captured in a moment of full motion. The athlete, depicted mid-air as he kicks the ball, embodies the energy, grace, and dynamism of Olympic competition. Dressed in a red jersey and white shorts, with prominently muscular legs, the player is a vivid symbol of strength, movement, and athleticism.

Guttuso, one of Italy’s most prominent 20th-century realist painters, was known for his emotionally charged compositions, bold use of color, and his ability to capture human vitality. His depiction of the calciatore emphasizes raw physical power and motion, with his signature expressive brushwork adding intensity and drama to the scene.

As an Olympic poster, this piece embodies the spirit of the Games — strength, competition, and unity — making it not only a visual celebration of sport but also a rare collectible for fans of sports art, Olympic memorabilia, and Guttuso’s acclaimed oeuvre.
