This 1973 Galerie André Emmerich exhibition poster, featuring Morris Louis’s iconic “Delta Epsilon” imagery, is an important historical document from the height of postwar American abstract painting. Though not in very good condition, the poster retains its full visual impact, with Louis’s flowing, color-soaked “Veil” forms framing the composition in sweeping arcs of red, green, yellow, and deep indigo. The signs of age—creases, edge wear, and discoloration—are consistent with a genuine early-1970s gallery poster and do not diminish its significance. On the contrary, they reinforce its authenticity as an original piece of art ephemera from one of the most influential galleries of the era.

Despite the wear, the poster is highly restorable; professional conservation can easily address typical issues such as surface marks, folds, and edge losses, returning the piece to a display-ready state while preserving its historical integrity.

With its connection to Morris Louis, a central figure of Color Field painting, and to Galerie André Emmerich, a powerhouse of Modernist exhibition history, this poster stands as a valuable collectible for curators, archivists, and serious collectors of mid-century abstract art ephemera.
